Pantnagar...only University or may become fashion?

Subject may be new for u but i think it is very interesting. The fashion statement is not restricted upto garments or some materialistic things these days. By this i mean that Pantnagar can also create a statement of its own. Actually we are really excited to create a brand that is Pantnagar.

When we think or discuss about Pantnagar, what comes to our mind is :

  • ‘Place where peace and greenery all around’
  • ‘where u can see all well-wishers all around u, who cares for u n think for u’
  • ‘having Fan and Chaay on TIC( Mahtam u r just great)’
  • ‘doing Roadmastry in Chhoti and Badi ‘
  • ‘having Aaloo ke Parathe with Butter ,half fry, full fry’
  • ‘relishing Butter Chicken on Shama’
  • ‘having our small Taj as Bisht ka Dhawa’
  • ‘getting tensed with Berkley n Tech-writing (course repeat hone main Berkley hamesha Oscar ke liye nominate hota hai )’
  • ‘fearing of Tashni Seniors in ragging time( aaj to fans gaya yaar)’
  • ’searching for Tashni Juniors in ragging time(ab to tu fans gaya bete)’
  • ‘thinking of muski ponchna,90 & 180 degree’
  • ‘Bunking Class & thinking of make-up( option hai to le lo bhai)’
  • ‘enjoying Kishaan mela with seniors’s treat ( kaphi chuna lagta tha I know)’
  • ‘first day of registration(is din sabse jyada likhna padta tha offcourse form filling)’
  • ‘giving Bday Bumps with Kicks n off course Chappal’
  • ’sharing Toothpaste, Soaps and Bathrooms’
  • ‘having Hangovers of Boring Lectures’
  • ‘& off course some healthy tashan with other branches

Note: ….We used to luv to see movies in Gandhi Hall(what a joke……..boss ager aaj bhi Gandhi Hall mein movie dekahyi jai to main aaj hi ka apna ticket book kara loonga)

…Thinking of swimming in our swiming pool which is actually in Pantnagar’s prospects(it hurts ha ha..)” …wainse pani daal diya jai wanha to it will work….

These things Makes me/us Nostalgic whenever i/we think about those Golden Days…………………………………………………

Everyone can relate to some activities that make them nostalgic.

If a bollywood movie can stir so much attention, why cannot Pantnagar?

If Chak de India, Lagaan or 20-20 final can evolve so many emotions, why not Pantnagar?

If FM, TV Reality Shows n K serials can become a craze for Janta why not Pantnagar?

Sth like that, can Pantnagar become a fashion?

Bcoz Factor is common……….our sentiments.

This is what I also think about Pantnagar, and arun has broken the shell .I think it is a good initiative ,so let’s get together and make it happen. Question is why do we want to make pantnagar a fashion statement?Offcource Because of it’s culture. Pantnagar has always been
rich in its culture.

The journey starts with us coming in first year
to a completely new world waiting for us. No one really imagines as
what is in store for us. But once the journey starts there is no
looking back. Its all filled with excitement. A roaler coaster ride. We
meet some of the best colleagues. Some very co-operative seniors and
loving juniors. Each year stores something for all.
first year we get first ragging experience. Its all fun. There are treats.
Fresher partys.Off cource the first time college crush[;)]. Hourlies are
new to all. makeup’s are always for rescue. But makeup’s become the real
resons for disastrous score in lectures :). Year pass by and its like
in a single breath. And we get no time to realize that GPA ki watt lag
gayi.

second year for the first time we become seniors. Its so much
excitement to rag new junta. But for the first time we start giving
treats to juniors and realize how we use to assault our seniors
purse. Then starts the branch rivalry. Tasan with other college junta.

Third year people start thinking about jobs, MBA’s. We get in touch in
with final yr students who give us word power made easy and barons.
And we realize that suddenly we have grown up.

Final year is all sentimental. people realize that finally we will part
from our best pals. Farewell parties are the trends. Campus placements
and then parties of our dear frens. We think when will we get chance
to give a job treat.

And the journey ends here.

But does the journey really ends or it is a new start. We do not say
that journey has ended. It a new start for us. Guys we are back and stage is set.. lets give it a start

Hi Rawat Sir,
Those were the best days. Now I am here, but still I can say there’s no place like pantnagar ! Ek baar fir se milenge sab log pantnagar main..!!

Well whenever one is drunk they think more of such kind but perhaps not this time.
Gone are those days when we pretended to try climb high in sky but tended to always looked horizontal. It was good habitat for every species which somehow got mixed in one or the other way but got wrapped in the mud of time.
Let’s unfold the coloured pages of those times which however remained blank and let others know the brightness of your colours which can awake many of the species hidden in their shells and peeping from there for others to come out but the best way is to break your shell and come out and bring others together.

Friends first of all i m very thanful to u for ur valuable comments.
One more thing i want to add that whatever i have mentioned in this blog about my/our memories,it may be differnt or 180 degree change for u.We have lived own life in Pantnagar .So don’t compare it with ur golden meomries.

From this blog i want to collect the actual True & Precious Moments of my seniors ,friends & lovely juniors.

thanks……………

Dear Arun,

I do agree that we all (except the exceptions) had great time in Pantnagar. But I am little bit confused about “Pantnagar becoming Fashion” !! What does that actually mean ?? Examples quoted by you have been appreciated by different sets (which may be disjoint too) of people at some point of time. But I dont see the correlation between say Rang De Ba… and Pantnagar.

If here you were indicating toward “Uniqueness” of our University culture and want to strengthen the web of relationships among all Pantnagar junta, count me in. If you intended otherwise then please elaborate.

By-d-way Kainth Sir’s comment is too poetic…. just liked it. :)

Really i feeln nostalgic after reading Kainth sir…..can u come to Delhi again this time i will take u to the pantnagar n then take d treat…(don’t mind)

I really missing those days of Pantnagar life..when we used to enjoy every moment whether at Hostel, Collz , Badi, Choti, BC, CC..(big list). .n i know its same wid all Pant-nagrik…..

so in my opinion its a great effort to bring all people under one umbrella for sharing wht we feeling now for pantnagar….n to share sth about our golden days of Pantnagar life…

hope this blog will able to get some of the precious time of our seniors, batch mates, juniors n also anyone who want to share sth related to Pantnagar University…

best of Luck….

hi to all,, i dont know what conclusion i m at ,n what am i thinking, its all mixed feelings.. sometimes i take pride in telling others that my coll friends r so enterprising dat they have given start to their big enterprising dreams n at the other time i feel scared whether we will survive the push n pull n competition of the market…. sometimes i feel ,whether this is just for pantnagar,, or whether it is the stepping stone for materializing our capitalist dreams…. whether it is nostalgia or just adding a value support to what some may fell as an absurd idea..

its all mixed up really.. but its the same way it happens in most of the cases n with all start ups .. we have both manifest and latent objectives and willing friends to materialise it. ….latent being subjective to evryone and to the entire team as a whole.

the good thoght i always get is ,maybe india may never know what pantnagar is(a university),, but as a brand they may know - it is a standard product lik d ‘ peepal tree’ etc…

and the last thing i m sure about it,,and what allays my fear is.. dat it is the same same team under arun’s guidance which made us calculate a big profit at tech fair lucky seven(manifest objective) and simultaneously brought pride to our group,,n coll of tech at d same time(latent objective) , and may be this time he will n others (patel.. ,,,) can tak the product out of pnagar boundaries n universlize it..

big support for u all..

JAI BADRI KEDAR!!!! (add this line also to some of the design)

hello frs ,as many comments i m getting from ur side.some r going with subject n some r going with our memories.
I don’t know much about fashion but with simple words i can say that my dream of Pantnagr fashion is to dispaly pantnagr in world map.And apart from study n placement we have to show the pantnagar culture we own to the world.

And the picture which i have pasted in my blog is one step in this.

Cam’s comment reminded me the first techfair in pantnagr ,it was just great.

“Take the first step in faith. You don’t have to see the whole staircase.Just take the first step.”

So true
I still remember those days when we bunked the classes and went direct to Brijwasi Canteen…soon whole of the class used to gather there and remained there for almost whole day…Those were the GOlDEN days…hope Pantnagar culture continues as ever and ultimately becomes a fashion…

Lots of memories and tons of nostalgic moments… College days are unique for every person and for us that too in an environ which was serene and had loads of greenary all around….. Unforgettable!!

Talking about this group of our seniors- only one word comes to my mind “FANTABULOUS”. These guys used to really liven up the whole scenario… Really enjoyed being there….

Now regarding the Fashion thing….yeah i liked the idea of having a T-Shirt reminding us of our college…..

Finally Arun sir -Gud job!!

Anonymous said...

Hello all…..
This is really a nice effort from the radicals group. Also the group T-Shirts here in Pantnagar are a big hit……. People are going crazy to buy them & they are seen all around in pantnagar wearing them…..
The life here is very much nostalgic….. Now when only 47 days are left for our degree to complete… its hard to imaging how we will adjust our lives without Pantnagar…..

Dear friends,
This is my first blog ……and i m very happy to share it with Pantnagarians for the first time. First of all congratulations for all of you for such a nice idea of bringing all Pantnagarians under one umbrella…..i would love to be a part of this…. it would be great if we create “a Vision” which would definitely help people to understand and work upon it easily. I am ready for any kind of participation.
Good luck to all of us !!!!
Cheers !!!!!!

Somebody told me that if you look at the big picture then every moment seems elegantly crafted. But when it comes to Pantnagar, even the small picture gives you the same feeling.
Those were the days when we started knowing what sharing is. We made friends who, i feel, are now a part of our lives, a part of our extended ego.

I think i need not say anything more.. :)

Excellent initiative. Things like these bring people together.

Dear all ,ur valuable comments are very energetic for us. and offocurse Lalit Yaduvanshi sir’s opinion about pantnagar fashion is very true.
Friends, some of passout seniors n frs are demanding for t-shirts. So for ur kind information ,we have initially printed t-shirts for students with some college quotes(in back of t-shirt) and for passout janta we have to print different t-shirt. And if u want same t-shirts then u can contact us personally. For new t-shirts ,Pantnagar..my small world we wll continue in front of t-shirt and quote for back yet to be decided.
So with commnet u can also send ur quote/punch line.

-with regards

Its really a gr8 initiative!!!

I think its probably the best way to get back college days & remember college Buddies.

All D Best for all such attempts :)

Dear friends,
Its been only an year since i am out of pantnagar, but the nostalgic flicker raises now and then, eventually, taking me into a deep plunge of fond memories and a few tears.
Pantanagar was definitely the best part of my life.I made my best friends out here who, i know, are going to last for a lifetime.I can never forget the days when we used to live so recklessly but still somehow enjoyed each and every moment.
How can one ever forget the unnecessary nightmares like GANGWAR, SRI PARAS and(the biggest and the badest) KK. But still on account of our unprecedented courage we saw through them all.
Apart from this how can one forget the cool seniors we’ve had.
I’d really like to thank patel sir for his relentless support which saw me through at my times of trouble.
Pantnagar was the the origin of our new hopes, dreams, friendship, love and what not…….and the feeling, the culture and the clan grow deeper and stronger with time!
Thank you “The Radicals” for bringing back the liveliness of pantnagar.

Hi All,
Its truly a giant leap towards a memorable journey which we (for me it was 2001) started in college, so lets not let it fade away. I think just few mins out our hectic routines are worth spending to relive those precious moments. Our Alma Mater deserves atleast this smallllll attention.
I give a hats off to my batchies who truly gave al those efforts to give its a start. i would love to support them in every way i can.
This is a plea to all our seniors/ batchies/jnrs…….just take out few mins and support us …..u never know this small step materializes and make us feel proud being a Pantanagarian.
We all know that we have organizations like WPAA, AIPAA which are big platforms developed by our great seniors to make our Pantnagar journey alive.
So why not we try soemthing new….brand tshirts is just a small thing which popped up in our minds….
I request all please provide you valuable suggestions and comments….and help us by communicating the Blog to all Pantangarites…….

~Pawas
Kalanidhi –This is not realy a step to capitalize our dreams or drive a business…..its just that spark which im sure is buried inside all hearts who studied in p’nagar, we just wana give a try to keep that fire blazing.

The other day I was in pantnagar….Going to registrar office to collect my B.Tech Degree…..It was after 3 years I was back to this university campus…I felt as if something has changed….
Few hostels have been added…Existing ones have had their makeovers..
As it was already 11 I aborted the idea of surveying and went straight to regsitrar to collect my degree….
But thanks to “Saxena” I was asked to come after Lunch because I was there after 3 years to collect my degree,so according to him that was a big crime…
As ususal I gave him a smile and utered few words inside…And then I had this sense that Pantnagar is still the same…”Saxena” still thinks that Boys of VS hostel still tease the girls passing by……Brijwasi canteen still serves that 3 rs kachodi with chatni….Guys like me still sit there with guys like us…Still home science college is the favourite….The shortcut to Registrar from Library is still the same….Take a U turn and you will find ever smiling “Mahatam” with certain set of guys entertaining themselves and “Mahatam” with all sort of stories….Take a left turn and few steps further back way to choti opens straight to “Sanjay” ke parathe and mango shake…joshi ji still taking out n number of xerox and printouts..”Vinod bhai ke pakode aur chai”…no match to them…Take a round turn…rickshaw to Badi market…Back to hostel…Ppl coming out cursing the canteen food….Ppl shouting hourly ,,makeups,,…tech fest..request songs…mass bunks…mass makeup…”farre”…”calci”
Its all the same…..
I realized that batches change..ppl change….but flavour remains the same…and indeed “Pantnagar” is a fashion

Almost 3 yrs, i have been out of the place..
Lost touch with most…the scenery, the campus, one- night acads…stolen trips to rudrapur & haldwani…the 2.5 hr away nainital, the lingo…cult…even most batchies..!

But memories…how does one lose touch with memories?
The experience floats in the mind every now & then…leaves a smile, a frown, anything….but an impact for sure.

I dun care much about fashion anyway, but memories….most welcome!
So here i welcome this endeavour of my batchies…who bring back the faded threads..with colours, words & embossments!

Would love to see u guys do great with this effort.
All the best to the Radicals…the revivers? :)

Hello All,

Very nice initiative and very good response from all.
It is really an initiative that we, while in Pantnagar, used to crave for.
I remember that in one of the meetings when the issue of visibility of P’nagar ( esp. College of Tech) came, one of our well respected Prof got off the hook and said that people are under estimating the visibility of the college and if it was indeed the case then the alumni of the college have done nothing to make the college visible enough.

The generations have passed but the question of visibility still remains.
There was a time when P’nagar was know for its contribution towards the food security of the nation and that contemporary generation remembers P’nagar.. That time has gone and so the generations. I have to tell the Green revolution to explain people what P’nagar meant for them and me and to India, but that is a forced recognition (at least for this time and people).

The fashion word is the most selling word of the day and it sells even more if it has got efficient promoters and something to get benefit from.
And even if we are not going to sell anything, this is a very good platform to share the by gone days and relish the moments.
I think when the initiative has been taken and the ball has just started rolling, as a first step why not to make it more substantial and start gathering the very peculiar events, accidents and happenings that ever happened to any one and make a consolidated HAPPENING E-BOOK OF PANTNAGAR.
Open for comments..

us pal ki kya tareef karein — tht’s pantnagar, and those were the memoirs that makes u nostalgic….jst the name, and u rem tht mahtam at TIC, chotti market mein photocopy (exam ke pehle, costs a fortune), the chicken shama waala……and century ke chotte se haal mein, baddi si party………wow, tht was really cool…..

still, those memoirs are thr, down deep in the heart, and ready to bounce back “whenevr, wherever” — tht’s the SPIRIT, and tht’s wht Radicals are……

This effort has touched the hearts of everyone back here, specially for our batch which is about to leave the place. I think the reaction to the t-shirt proves it. With every third person wearing them...Yes! Pantnagar has become a fashion and we all its brand ambassador. Your group and efforts are really inspiring.

some of you might be thinking that what these people are trying to do.. what is their motive.. why they want to reunite pantnagar... what they are getting from it.. blah blah.. some of you would be thinking that this initaitive is just like the other ones which comes and go and nothing fruitful comes out.. what i will be getting from this one.. But how it looks if somebody ask you that you belong to the university whose students has started a brand targetting their college and the brand in now worn out by every one in every college.. How it feels when u will tell somebody that Nainital in 2 hrs run from Pantnagar and not pantnagar is 2 hrs ahead of nainital... its gives a feeling of pride to you and your college.. we just want to make pantnagar a global hit so that each and every person is aware of its identity and its students intellect....

great work done by radical group.wearing these t- shirts in the college n hostel give a pleasant feeling. these t-shirts have created a wave in pantnagar. they r not bound to be a particular branch or college t shirt. it symbolizez pantnagar rather than a college.
these days radical's t-shirts r hot favourite in pantnagar.they r in demand.
kudos to radicals!

i hope radical group will continue this trend.
all the best.
